Surprisingly ran into peeps we know from school^^
Pic of me and my boyfriend, Aaron^^
This weekend was Fanimecon! Which meant that it's the weekend where very nerdy, weird people stand in a super duper long line to get their badges and go in to the festival. They have different halls such as the dealers hall, the art hall, and the entertainment hall where they put on different shows. Most people dressed up in cosplay. This year me and Aaron were supposed to dress up as Pikachu and Ash because I do have a Pikachu onesy, but I didn't really feel like wearing it two years in a row. Next year I do hope to go as either a storm trooper or Master Chief, but I know that the costumes will be very expensive. The line was crazy long though and we had to wait about 6 HOURS to get inside. I think they got new management or something because in the past years when I have gone, I have only had to wait two hours. I am praying that if I ever go to Comic Con that I will never have to wait in that long of a line because seriously it was torture and weirdo people kept trying to make conversation with us.
Some of my goodies^^
I did pick up a few things though in the dealers hall! I bought a large alpaca that I named Bobby, a small alpacca pouch, and a few things that I am going to add to Aaron's birthday present. I'm not quite sure yet on what else I am going to get/do for him for his birthday. I was possibly thinking of doing a surprise birthday party but with me I am very bad at planning those types of things and keeping them secrets. BTW that was the Adventure Time comic book that I had been searching for for months! Its the one where LSP takes a pill and becomes a handsome man. So when I finally found it I was like OMGEEEE and I actually stole it from Aaron even though he was the one who bought it in the first place. We also did purikura which was really neat because I haven't gotten to do purikura in such a long time! It was really fun and kind of a throwback because in middle school me and my friends would go almost every Friday to the local mall and do purikura together. But sadly they closed all of the purikura machines in San Jose D:
The purikura pictures turned out really bad though because they didn't really translate to english very well so we didn't know what was going on. And we only had 75 seconds to decorate them, like c'mon man that's NO TIME. Plus there was no erase button so we kept putting random stickers in places that we didn't want, how sad I know.
This weekend I also got to see the Great Gatsby! I have been wanting to see it for forever, and I remember really loving the book when we got to read it last year in my English 3 class. Me and my boyfriend went and saw it on Thursday, and he bought us the most largest popcorn and soda you could possibly buy. I also really really liked the soundtrack that they had for it. (Like they had 1920's remixes of Jay Z and Rihanna which was really cool because it really modernized the crazy parties that Gatsby threw). They did have a Lana del Rey song (Lana del Taco lolololol) that I really liked even though I recently have really hated her music. The way that they reenacted the story line was really good! The ending was sooo good, and all in all it was a really amazing tragic love story. Here's the two different songs that I was talking about:
They also had a really good XX song that I liked and they played it at the end during the closing credits.
Lastly for this weekend I had to go to Monterey and help my mom clean my grandpa's house. At first i was really sad because I was planning on maybe hanging out with my friends, but I really do enjoy spending time at the beaches there. There's something really special and different about the beaches in Monterey. Me and my mom even stopped at one of the beaches near my grandpa's house and we got to explore the tide pools. There was tons of little crabs and sea urchins which was pretty cool! But I made sure to not climb off to far on the rocks because I didn't want to almost drown again like what happened last time I was there. Thankfully it was low tide though and there was even some crazy tourists that went super far our onto the rocks. After we cleaned up me and my mom went and ate at this korean restaurant that I hated. I tried that bimbambap thingy majigger for the first time and I hated it and I hated the kimchi and everything about that restaurant was stinky and weird. My mom loved it though because she grew up eating all of that weirdo Korean food.
Even though we had a four-day weekend, it actually went by really, really fast! I can't believe that I'll be officially graduating from high school in 4 DAYS. Senior Projects were a pain, but I'm so glad that they're all over and now it's time to focus on finals. Most people that I know from other schools have actually already graduated. It's crazy to think how fast time really flew by, and I can't wait to blog about all of the adventures I'll have this summer!
